I was pretty lucky, when I went to LA to see a cousin. In the garage was a brand new, Challenge Stradale, with F1 tranny. He handed me the keys and we went out to "stretch" out its legs a bit on the freeway. Apparently he never drove it the way I did, because I revved that sucker right up next to the redline! (don't worry; the break-in was done at the factory). Then I turned on the Race Program (which he never tried), and the shift program quicken up by 35%. I got the whole thing on video. It was awesome when we drove through a tunnel: I floored it and the hairs were standing up on the back of my neck...awesome car. For sure will give the turbo a good scare. The torque is a bit low though, and it shows when you launch...

Default 360 Modena accident in Chicago...

Always fun to see some uber-car out and about in the real world...

True story:

A year or so ago my wife and I were doing some shopping on Michigan Ave in Chicago. While packing some bags in our SUV, a beautiful yellow Ferrari 360 Modena pulled up to the stop light next to us. Gorgeous car. It sped off when the light changed - nothing in the world like a Ferarri V8, that's for sure. Anyway, we drove a few blocks down the street, went around a couple of blocks looking for a Starbucks. As we went were looking, the same Ferrari drove by traveling the opposite direction, and this time I noticed that it's two occupants were fairly young guys, maybe in their 20's. Just showing off their Ferrari, it seemed.

We found a Starbucks soon enough and grabbed a couple of lattes. On our way back down Michigan avenue, I noticed, once again, a yellow Ferrari 360 up ahead. This time though, it was parked, with a Chicago PD squad car parked behind it, blue lights flashing. "Someone driving a little too fast," I said to my wife as we approached the scene. Then I noticed that the guys who were driving were standing at the front of the car, pointing and yelling as a couple of officers stood nearby. As we passed I noticed that a fair chunk of the front end was mashed and mangled. I don't know if they hit something, or something hit them - but he certainly looked upset. Was a terrible thing to see, those Ferrari yellow mangled body parts lying on the pavement...

Ouch.

I guess I'm lucky to live in TO (in the summer at least) that way.

I got to see a Continental GT within months of its introduction right around school. The funny thing was, it was fairly late at night and another guy was apparently a car enthusiasts as well as we just stood there with our mouth open waiting for the owner to open up the throttle when the light turned green.

I also got to chase a Carrera GT down 2 blocks through downtown traffic and heard the owner open it up when the traffic cleared a bit.

And then there's the various GT3's and Murcielagos. My friends wonder how I can manage to walk into a light post sometimes
