Talking The most expensive thing I've ever purchased. (engagement ring)

It's about 100 years old, the band is 18k yellow gold, with a platinum setting. The center stone is .75 carats, VS1, and I think the color was F or G, I'll look at the cert. later... The lighting really doesn't do the stone justice. It's very lovely.

We were already engaged and planning our wedding, but I still wanted to get her a ring, and she's extremely happy.

Congrats! Must be a excellent cut, because it looks way bigger than 75 points!

Was the stone a family heirloom or did you look for an antique one?

That's because I moisturize daily...

The ring was from a small vintage jewelery store near my apartment in NYC. They carry all kinds of vintage pieces, very cool stuff.

Awesome! Congratulations, man. Soon you'll be one of us. One of us, one of us... Get used to sitting outside of dressing rooms with the other husbands. I suggest bringing a cushion.

I'm lucky, actually. She really doesn't like shopping, so I don't have to sit in those crap chairs at the Limited too often.
