I was a 2000 Focus Owner, untill my dealer caught my car on fire during a service!
I was then faced with buying a new car. The Focus gave me trouble so i did a ton of research. Guess which car came out on top? Subaru! For the price....the most car you can get "in my opinion". I got the 2002 OBS because i didn't have an xtra $5000.00 for the WRX. i am very happy with it, it kicks ass. Alot of the time I can be seen standing near it doing this.. . Some folks wonder what the hell is wrong with me....I just tell them they don't understand! If you want to see the details of the flaming Focus see it here http://fordfog.tripod.com

!A friend of mine has a 2000 fucus and it is the worst handeling (newer) car I've ever driven. (even for a comuter car, my wifes 93 carolla would trash the fucus in a corner) good job on the new subie! |

So what happened after your focus got caught on fire? Did they give money to you? How much did you get back?

man, the dealer setting your car on fire is pretty harsh. I was just reading about some anarchist/environmentalists in oregon who set a dealership and 3 SUV's on fire. And i thought that was pretty hardcore at the time :-|. But anyway, welcome to the big happy subaru family!

How the heck did they catch your car on fire? I could see if they broke something but setting your engine on fire is strange.

now prepare yourself,'cause you'll be having fun driving your subie!!! i hope that you'll head out somewhere on a gravel road to feel the adrenaline rush you get from entering a corner at 70mph sideways and the look of horor your buddies will have when they're sitting on the passenger seat!!!or if the extreme driving's not your cup of tea,you can just experience the confidence inspiring manners of your car in any kind of driving conditions... now it's time for you to put on your shades and head outto show off your baby subie!!! happy to have you among us ![]() |

70 sideways sounds good to me! however I am still getting a feel for the little beast. I don't want to hurt it, cause i didn't know how to read the feedback yet. I am used to the feel of front wheel drive. My other vehicles are 4x4 also but not the same!!!! 97" Dodge ram 1500 Xtra cab (not good for rallying) 87" Suzuki Samuri lifted 8 inches over stock, also not so good in the turns Climbs rocks damn good though. Anyway thanks for the welcome to the club. I am looking forward to many years of great driving from my 02 OBS. P.S. Does the club have windshield banners? |

Welcome! I was a potential Ford Focus buyer. However, after sitting in one, I realized I was sitting in a FORD. No power anything, no tilt, no cruise, certainly no leather, no sunroof, no motor practically, no sunroof, and no AWD! Hey, it's an economy car. I think the new modded one that is coming out looks pretty cool, but I'm so glad that Scooby caught my attention.
Skylab™ Would you drive this car? |

Yeah one of our Moderators, (Jaimie) posted your site a few weeks back, I checked it out then, and hoped you would make your way over here.
![]() I know we are all biased, but I think yo made a great choice. Congrats on the new car, and welcome. You do realize though, now tht other focus owners will see that you were able to get rid of the focus and get a OBS, there will be a nationwide Rash of "Sudden under-hood fires" on the Foci across the country.... ![]() |

I checked out your site - I know it was traumatic for you and all, but you've got to admit in hindsight that not only was it kind of funny, but it's not a bad deal.
I've had rental Focuses(Focii?), and I actually don't mind them too much. Kind of anemic, but a hell of a deal for what they cost. |
