Default USDM wrx dash into GC body?

Now, im a totally noobie about subaru's, but after reading the sticky above, and reading all the wiring problems that people had, i was just wondering if anyone had ever tried to use the dash out of a usdm wrx to try and eliminate some of the wiring hell (i wonder if it would even fit).

So the answer is yes...but what would you need besides just the dash out of a wrx?

I would guess the center console, the full HVAC plumbing, and all necessary wiring. The dash beam either has to be modified or replaced if I recall correctly. I wonder if it would bolt in. I've seen 3 or 4 of these done. Just make sure you have the latest style GC doorcards.

Using the GD dash is alot harder than just intergrating harness's. But it sure does look nice

from what i remember the door cards were a pain to do, the GC8 ones kinda worked, but where they met the dash it was obvious that it wasnt ment to be like that.

Yeah I hear you have to modify the structual support in the dash which not only could be dangerous but illegal.... but most of the things people do to their cars to modify them are :-P. Would be cool to see some pics.

i dont know man, I have seen it done to a 96 impreza and it came out kinda bad, at least i thought. There were seems at the ends where the dash meets the A pillar and the center consol had a nasty seem by the shifter and sterio.

I think the RS interior is better also. Don't know why, just do. What are you selling your WRX stuff for?

The interior swaps look good, IMO.

When I hit the lottery I'm doing a 2-door conversion, 22B widebody, 17" Prodrive GC-01E wheels, '05 STi engine/interior and a bunch of other stuff.

ECS did this, and it came out great on their car, but then again.
