Only thing I can think of is the question WHY? SBC or SBF with a 9" rear I could understand. Duratec.......
I think you will likely have a hood and radiator clearance issue. The boxer engine is very short both ways.

do you even know which duratec im talking about? how about 180whp with mild cams, intake, header, exhaust, cam timing? .. with no tuning.. yeah. that duratec.
(doing it because i have my wrecked focus + all th engine parts/ecu i need)

hood clearance im not worried about, it can be fixed anyways... as for rad.. im sure i can work that out too, im more concerned with the bellhousing/tranny possibly hitting the firewall

HEHE have you ever heard of a Ver 6 RA STi engine....270 whp stock and it bolts in. Also runs 11's WITH NO TUNING How do you plan on bolting that powerful engine to a T5?

If you know anything you should know the mazdaspeed6 turbo is a bust. Its NOT a performance car, and its slow when you find out it has 276 hp to work with. Also, steve was talking about Wheel HP not crank. plus! its not like you could get that motor as that car isn't even out yet, where as JDM STI motors are so cheap when you think about how much hp they have.

Stop saying duratec, thats so generic. Hell i have a duratec too. but its in my contour, and its a 2.5l V6 with 200 crank hp. Your motor has nothing in common with the mazda V6 and mine.

A Focus motor is a subaru would be a big waste of money, sell the motor and get a JDM STI motor.

the mazdaspeed6 isnt a v6 you tool
and its not fast because its not MEANT to compete with the evo and sti, its also not the motors fault the car is heavy, dynos dont lie.
and youre right the contour engine has nothing to do with it, because it is not related to the 4 cylinder duratec, which came out in 2003.. only made in a 4cyl, made by mazda
youre dissing an engine but you dont even know what engine you are talking about... smart.
and yeah.. ill just go ahead and throw in a $5000 engine..

hehe I wish I was living in the same magical fairyland as you...one where Mazda I4's bolt up to mustang/F body T5's. Maybe then my suby engine would bolt up to a Supra trans. Come on man, you registered this month, you come onto a suby site yelling about how great duratecs are and then you have to balls to call others tools. You are on a fast track to being banned. Get lost.

You've got to find an AWD L then, some 93 L's were just FWD, therefore you would be in the same situation.

Sorry I wasnt aware that a small hot rod shop in Colorado was making bell adapters for Duratecs. I guess if you have enough money anything is possible. You know the stock 2.2l engine makes 135hp. Anyways good luck on your project.

thank you, i didnt mean to start anything here.
the bellhousing is $450 shipped
t5s are cheap
i have the engine/ecu/everything it came with
the impreza l i found is fwd, can i use the rear end from say a 2.5rs? or what will bolt up? it is really cheap .. so id rather get it than find an awd one

I'm not sure if FWD L's will have the space for a RWD tranny

But I think the main issue is, how are you going to wire it? Subarus have integrated ECU's, so you might be better off choosing a car that has seperate ECU's

what do you mean by integrated ecus? i dont need to use any of the subaru ecus.. the engine will be controlled by the focus ecu.
