Default Aluminium Control Arms on WRS swap

Hello

I had done swap into my 2000 RS 2door now I want to use Aluminium control arms on my Rs from wrx sti.
The Crosmember is from wrx and right now i have rs control arms with washers. I wanted to change to wrx Sti aluminium control arms.
Would there be any problem with alignment or fitting them in?

They should go in the wider wrx crosmember space and i wont be needing washers.

Any problem with replacing them with STI ones?

Thank you

Jaxx is right. If you use the GD Sti arms, you will get a crap load of negative camber. You will have to do some serious grinding to get back a decent alignment because the stock eccentric wasn't enough.

I put some GD ones up to a set of RS ones the other day and the difference didn't seem to be that great. 20cm would be lowrider territory, I think the difference is somewhere between 5-10mm. I know it doesn't have to be very large to make things off quite a bit, but it seemed correctable with a set of camber plates. It was wide enough though that I don't think it's correctable within the sweep of the stock camber bolts.

it's about 20mm, not 20cm... but that's divided in two, so about 10mm per side, I believe...

Default Aluminium Control Arms on WRS swap

So what do you guys recomend not using ati auminium arms just keep the steel RS ones with washers.
How about old 2000 wrx sti from japan maybe they will fit but what about the wide gap on the mount where i got washers .
Does anyone know what would be best to fit them on (STI) arms.

Thanks

so its not recommended to use WRX control arms with a WRX front crossmember on a RS chassis?

I recently purchased a motor and got the WRX front Xmember with control arms and everything. Should i 'shim' the crossmember so I can use the stock RS arms or would I be ok with the WRX setup?

Are we just talking about GD STI arms. . or GD arms in general . . on a RS?

GD Sedan arms on an old school chassis is not going to work well. Like was stated earlier, the wider track will make for some really goofy negative camber that would be lousy on the street.
