This disgusts me for three reasons:

1) We have far more important things to deal with than low-riding jeans.
2) This is yet another strike against VA.
3) Teenage (16+) girls wearing lowrise jeans is hot.

I say $50 fine is sufficient for WTLW violations.

Is there a link to the WTLW thread? Does said thread have the appropriate keywords?

I think low-rise is appropriate.

Good this will help clean up the trash on the street. I'm sick of seeing them, it drives business away from popular areas.

They need to pass this law in DC too, Georgetown looks like **** these days. 3-4 years ago Gtown used to be a pleasant place, now it's ghetto fab.

Regardless, dumb law, but if you wear that look, you deserve a $50 fine.

Oh boy.. Now it seems that we now have our fine government setting dress codes for us. With non-compliance fines.
I may not like the look of the baggy pants/underware hanging out look, but my god, to make it a punishable offence to dress a certain way is just completely unbelieveable.
Our liberty is being chipped away from us bit by bit. Nanny state is beginning to become an understatement.

Who wants to take a crack (no pun intended) at the next thing that will be legislated to protect us from seeing/hearing/feeling things that make us uncomfortable?

This law could be interpreted in such a way that precludes people from wearing bathing suits in public. I personally despise that jean-around-the-knee thing, but not everything needs to be legislated.

Most of the news bits on this showed young black guys with their pants around their knees, and a baggy shirt covereing up the drawers. Perhaps this is aimed at all the young male under-drawer showers?
