hey what is target boost for 04 wrx cobb stage 2 93 oct? i'm hitting about 1.13-1.15 bar= 16.3 give or take. is this target boost for that map? i've done some searching but cant find exact answer. its about 30 degrees here and wanted to know if that makes a difference? ive had it installed about 2 days and love the way the car pulls. great product!!!!

Well one thing first. You shouldn't notice the way the car pulls just yet, since you shouldn't be going WOT until the ECU learns, usually 100-200 miles.

16.3 is a tad high but if its 30F then that would probably be the reason. 15.5+/-0.5 i think was the target boost.

i think that i have put about 100 miles on. i thought target boost would be higher than 15.5 but then again the turbos are only good for like 16 psi right. im still a newbie to the wrx. thanks for the info

Yes efficiency for the stock turbo on 93 oct is about 16-17 psi really. Cobb makes it 15.5 so that they can make the map safe for all elevations and temperatures. Also accounts for the fact that people have other minor mods in addition to the downpipe which is the only requirement of Stage 2. But it looks like your boosting strong.

I thought stg 2 boost for the WRX is 16psi (+/-.5) for 93 octane, and 15.5psi (+/-.5) for 91 octane maps. ...but it's been a while since I had the WRX, and I had an 02, which was a different ECU. All the same, I think you're fine as long as it still tapers off toward redline. The cold air could easily account for your minor variation, even if it was a 15.5psi target.

Use economy mode to save on gas, I see about 3-5mpg difference. You can change maps while you are driving as long as you are using the real time maps of course. Takes like 30 seconds.

Well you get wastegate boost. Pretty much whatever pressure the wastegate can handle without ecu control. This is 8-9 psi. In your stage 2 of course you got the ecu control.

Cobb doesnt recommend going WOT in economy because its an economy mode map. I think that is just to cover their asses though, I dont see how they can make a map were it is dangerous to go WOT.

You get significantly less horsepower in this map. You are looking at 7psi decrease, about 70hp. Switch it up, you will feel the difference.
