Default Question about springs???

What is the advantage and disadvantage to lower the car only with the springs and without the aftermarket shocks??/

The ride is bouncy because with aftermarket springs, the spring rates are higher but your shocks are not accustomed to them. When Subaru puts a car together, they mate the shock and spring to work in conjunction with one another. When you replace one, the other is out of sync in a way. You won't die or anything, but the ride just becomes bouncey. I did it before and swapped for coilovers two months later.

If you plan on doing springs with stock shocks, go with OE springs or sport springs, not race springs.

Also, your stock shocks will wear down alot faster.

Coilovers include aftermarket shocks designed to work with the springs in question. Springs just lower your car.

You can get the generic coilovers for $100 which are strictly height adjustable but the spring rates are so bad with the tsock shocks you'll end up throwing up.

Coilovers with the "built-in" shocks and rebound adjustability come with height adjustbability will run you $1800.
