Default Chica's Hit & Run on the WRX, but now they are PWN3D! *pics*

While my car was parked, it got backed into today. Luckly, some good samaritains witnessed it and left a note on my car....including licence plate. I fill out the police report, and have the 2 witnesses make statements. They reported a red SUV with two girls backed into my car, checked the damage then drove off. Cop enters licence plate number, 02 Nissan, Vin #, Daddy's name & address in Sarasota. Highly likely they have insurance. These girls are so so owned . Myself and the police have all of their info plus two eye witness statements. I wish I could be on the other line when the cops call!!! Too bad you can't really press charges on a hit & run, but the trouble they are going to get in is worth enough to ease my mind. Damage includes headlight, hood, bumper, & fender. At least $3K in damages daddy gonna be paying.

Wow, giving up IDP to a good samaritan is more generous than I could be. Good luck with that.

I had that same exact fender replaced cause of a runaway shopping cart....costs $140 for the fender and $375 for the paint and labor. Factor in the cost of a new hood, bumper, fender, & light, + paint & labor....I'm sure it will be close to $3k. I have the right to have everything restored back to factory specs...including new panels.

You don't need a new hood or bumper, and it won't be $375 for each panel, once they have the paint mixed for one panel, each after becomes progressively cheaper.

I definetely would make it a point...

That was certainly nice of them, and deserves recognition. I dunno about taking them out to dinner, but maybe just a little something to say thanks for saving my ass some money

How do you figure? They just gonna pop my hood out? I have the right to have it brought back to exact factory....which means I can request new panels, no bondo, & the bumper has a crack in it all the way through.

If the bumper has a crack, it needs replacing, but as is, the hood and fender are very fixable.

Don't be a dick just because you can.

I don't want any bondo on my car. How is that being a dick? They are the ones that hit me, checked out the damage, know they messed up, but still took off.

Hit and run = the absolute right to be a dick.

If they stayed and offered to fix.... another story.

Hit and run... financial IDP

Having an eye-witness (or two) is the difference between being able to press charges and not beig able to press charges.

I got my car dinged by some bitch in a 525i and even though her paint was on my fender, my paint was on her bumper, all the scratches on my rear fender lined up perfectly with the scratches the corner of her front bumper, and I knew where she lived, the cop said he could do nothing without an eye witness.

Make them pay!!!!!!!

Have you ever had a metal panel fixed before? There is no <s>spoon</s> bondo. Bondo is used to fill cracks or smooth rough surfaces, etc.

Both those dents can be hammered out to perfection.

When I was fixing my fender the first time for the shopping cart dent, the body shop actually told me he planned on hammering it out and filling it with bondo. Said it would be easier and cheaper than new fender. I then took my business else where. I live in a small town, so maybe the shop guys here are not as talented as yours. I'm requesting new parts, period.
