I posted this on 2/20/04 originally. so there are times from 2004 to be added.

Disclaimer; I cannot vouch for these times being 100% accurate.

Forgive the lousy formatting. I have broken the data down by track. Each set should be in the same format - name, time, speed, car, tyres, HP, date. CCW mean Counter Clock Wise, CW is obvious. Some people keep their real names secret, but if you know the real name, it would be good to enter it. ALL these times were measured with the AMB transponder system by SpeedVentures (who I recommend for well-organized track events). I collected data from the start of last year, but I did drop some where the same people had run on the same track multiple times (my laziness).

Track - Thunderhill

Stock 27k mile RE92s 205/55-16
1:35.xx
Driving my sister's bone stock (with the exception of the sedan rear bar) WRX since the Legacy was on it's way to Hawaii courtesy of the Navy. With real brake pads I could have easily shaved another second or two per lap, I was having to take it easy to avoid cooking them completely. With real tires and real pads I could have probably been down in the 1:31-1:32 range I'm guessin'.

1997 Legacy 2.5GT sedan w/DMS Golds
Summit Point - October 2001
Victoracer V700s 225/50-15
1:37.xx
I wish I could have run the 2.5GT one more time rather than the WRX to see how much my lap times would have improved the 2nd time at Summit Point.

1999 Legacy 2.5GT sedan
VIR-North (The original design, very first event they ran in 2000 when they re-opened the course. I believe the cross-over has been straightened out a bit since then.) - March 2000
Yokohama Nexus (their old max performance tire) 205/55-16
2:01.xx off in-car video
My first ever open track event back in March 2000. I was hopelessly addicted. The car was essentially stock - 18mm rear bar, Mintex 1155 pads, braided lines, and the Yoko street tires.

1997 Legacy 2.5GT sedan
VIR-Full course - February 2002
Victoracer 225/50-15
2:35.xx (in car camera)
About 180hp, DMS Golds, Victos, I think Porterfield R4 pads - fade free.

2002 WRX wagon
VIR-Full course - April 2002
Toyo T1-S 215/45-17
2:36.xx (stopwatch)
Again in my sister's WRX, my street wheels and tires in place of the stock RE92s, my street Mintex 1155 pads (wholly inadequate), don't remember if it had the sedan bar on it yet or not - I think not.

1997 Legacy 2.5GT sedan
Willow Springs - May 2002 ( www.opentrackchallenge.com )
Yoko A032R 225/50-15
1:51.6 (pretty pathetic, I know)
About 190-195hp, DMS Golds, first time ever on the track.

Gary, if I remember correctly you only had like striaght pipe and Hoosiers when you pulled that 1:25 at Summit Point right....I mean there was'nt much left in the car at that stage?....YOu had the Stoptechs, Hoosiers and not much power was what
I remember about that lap time that impressed me back then and still now.

The car was gutted, but we had to ballast up over 3100 lbs. by that point in the season. We were definitely heavier than stock for most of the season.

Power was higher than stock, but we couldn't run above stock boost and we had to run the stock turbo. All engine internals were stock as well.

Stock 2004 WRX STi, 1:40.711 at Pacific Raceways. From what I gather it's a pretty good time for a stock car. Most people are doing a few seconds slower.

I don't feel so bad about my 1:40.xxx in my S2000. Stock category autocross car, top down.

I'll assume that lap time included the Festival Curves.

You're 1:35 IS a " respectable time " I remember seeing some of the instructors running 1:25s ( Porsche 911's) and I thought they were absolutely flying.

I feel that the 1:35 -1:36 is an ok time in my Subaru on the Falkens.
I have been a passenger in a few Porsche's in which we put down laps of 1:14 to 1:21. Those rides were a very humbling experience.
