Only one person (Gary Sheehan) had a time from Willow Springs...? I had a timer in car today that only worked in the second session...1.42 w/ Hankook Z211 was my best time but I think I went faster in 3rd session after I let more air out, they were 44F/40R psi, no wonder I thought the car was sliding around a bit!

You mean Streets of Willow, not Willow Springs. I saw your post and thought Cool! I didn't know they ever ran big Willow backwards! and then checked out the video and saw it was the Streets.

Nice video, but someone needs to get an in-car setup so we don't have to listen to all that wind buffetting!

Todd, I saw an earlier post by you with the "BTG" term. I'm assuming that denotes "B____ to G_____", but I'm just guessing. If I'm correct, where are B and G?

Bridge to Gantry. It's how you measure lap times on a tourist drive day at the Ring. In the video it's the bridge right at the start and the "gantry" right at the end (with the Audi sign on it.) It is about 18km. Not to be confused with a complete lap of the Nordschleife, which you can only do in races or private track days.

Vehicle: 2004 WRX Wagon
Track: Streets of Willow CCW
Tire Type: well worn 225/50-16 RA-1's
Time: 1:30.6
Respectable time: TTD for a well prepped STI was 1:26, everyone else was right around high 1:20's or low 1:30's.

Car has more in it, especially now that I fixed the boost leak it had, and the brake fade issues. With a bit more tire under the car I think I could knock off 2-3 seconds.

Going back next month with wider wheels and tires.

Went back with the wider tires but they ran the track CCW and it was my 1st time doing CCW so the fastest recorded lap I got was 1:26.53

Here is some in car video

It should be noted that USTCC did not run the chicane. Otherwise, that would be obscenely fast.

Me:

Track: Portland International
Vehicle: 2005 STI (stage 2, Tein Flex)
Tire: RE070
Time: 1:28.86
Respectable Time: Randy Pobst got down into the 1:24s in his Mazda3 back in 05 I believe.

Track: Pacific Raceways
Vehicle: 1994 Mazda Miata (stock drivetrain, Tein Flex)
Tire: Hankook RS2
Time: 1:49.x
Respectable Time: Spec Miata record around 1:41 I think. Fast STIs are in the lower half of the 1:3xs. :/

At the Track VIR north

All these times are from video, and I get faster the more I review the video
Vehicle: 2005 STI. Stock with Hawk HP plus pads
Track: VIR North
Tire type:Bridgestone RE070 stock meat
Time:1:50 (45deg F)
Overall Track Record or respectable time: Matt Pombo Spec miata 1:47.364 11//06
Comments: Wooooohoooo, fun. here I am doing 3 laps of 1:55's stuck behind a slower Lotus Exige
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...69015808259961

TRack: VIR SOUTH
Time : 1:23 70 deg F
Comments: This track wants me to die, I think it is evil.

Vehicle: 2005 Sti, Cobb Stage 1 (93 0ctane)
Track: CMP
Tires: Fresh Bridgestone RE-01R with 300 miles on them
Time: 2:00 (101 deg F) YIKES!
Comments: I was getting about 4 good laps before the tires got greasy-hot. The track itself was slick, due to the lack on rainfall over the past month, but that just made it more fun = sideways action. Is 120C too hot for oil temp? Very fun track!

Vehicle: 2005 Sti, Cobb Stage 1 (93 0ctane)
Track : VIR FUll - SM record is 2:18.52 Todd Buras 10/05 SARRC. His car had probably only 115hp.
TIME: 2:21 (60 deg) Bridgestone RE-01R

Vehicle: Spec Miata Build car - not quite done
VIR SOUTH
TIME: 1:30 (from video)
Comments: Car dyno'd at 87 rear wheel hp. I feed those hamsters nitro! 184,000 miles on it with a stock clutch.
respectable time- 1995 BMW M3 I-prepared *South Course E. Hardcastle 1.23.36

Also the chicane has changed apparently at PIR and is much more aggressive now. From what I understand the track is much slower than it used to be because of this.

The 1:26 at Summit was in heavy traffic, I think if I could get a clean lap in I could knock off another 2 seconds or so easily.
