Default question about fuel pump controller.

hey guys. I been driving my RS W/ WRX conversion.. I recently changed my rear differential.. and STI sway bar.. well I have a CEL because of fuel pump controller and also Drink gas.. Have to put gas every other day..
is there a way to wire it up to the ECU? I think RS doesn't have a connector for the fuel pump controller in the right quarter like the wrx..If anyone has done the swap.. please help.. me I want to get rid of the CEL.. and new york city is coming out with a new inspection machine that goes by OBD II and any car that has a CEL will fail the NYC Inspection.. please please help me thanks.. kevin

I think he knows what the wiring is, but if you don't have the connector that those wires plug into, which then plugs into the controller, it makes things a little tougher.

Post something in the wanted classifieds and see if someone has one. Also check with the JDM dismantlers to see if they have one out of a JDM STI or other car. www.iaperformance.com usually has that kind of stuff around.

I need the connector as well. I'm goning to order mine through Subaruparts.com if my wiring harness doesn't have one and if that doesn't work I can always make a connector.

i put mine under my dash next to the glove box. The ecu is right there and the wires going back to the fuel pump are right there, so spicing it is easy. If you dont have the connector just use some female crimp connectors that have a plastic coating so they are insulated.

I hope you used very heavy gauge wiring for that.

hello,

I have a STI 8 JDM in a GC8.
I dont have this PFC, and i haven't CE !

I use the "PFC +" from the ECU for the "FP +"
and it's good.

Just one thing : I haven't timing on the pump. it run always when you put the contact.

I think it's because I haven't PFC.

i used 10 guage wire and connected it to the 2 wires that goto FPC from ecu. They are 2 14 guage wires and i connected it to 2 big 10 gauge wires and ran it to the trunk, that wouldnt prevent mine from acting normally would it, too big gauge wire?

I used the connector out of the wrx harness, and useds the pigtail wires off it. And the wires going back to the pump I used the same guage as the stock wires. At first I just hooked up the power to the pump and not the ground, but i hooked up the ground for the controller, but I was getting a cel, so I just spliced in the ground back to the pump. But I had to run the ground all the way back to under the rear seat, because the ground wire that goes under the carpet from the right side kick pannel grounds more than just that pump. I've been driving it for a few months and I have no problems and no cel. The reason I put it under the dash and not "Where it belongs" is so i wouldnt have to run the wires from the ecu all the way to the trunk.
