Default buy performance parts from dealer - use it against you?

Some dealers carry a full line of mods (downpipes, AP, etc.). Wondering if you buy from them, could their service dept have access to the records if you bring your car in for warranty? I take my car to Subaru of Dallas (hotsubaru.com) for service and I am a little leery about also buying performance parts from them.

They sure could. Though I would guess that buying from someplace like hotsubaru (who I believe is a sponsor) probably means they understand what does and does not really cause problems, and might be more lenient.

Probably best to call the service guys and ask.

i dont think they can use it against you unless they know you installed it on your car.

I'd imagine it could assist them in denying a claim.
