I think he's indicating that, yes, it's been done. If you do a search, there's a few threads on a guy who was working on one. He had it running last year I think, I never followed up to see what else happened to it.

Some people have some issues with the weight distribution of such a setup, but it seems to be a surmountable problem, with a little work.

That would be Anders8.

He swapped an EZ30 into a 96 (I believe) Impreza. He rally-Xes it. He was able to keep the a/c and everything, too.

Which of course means that people like to discuss the theory of such things without actually knowing any facts about it. Removing the ABS and putting the battery in the trunk put the car within 1% of the front/rear weight distribution.

It's a 95, but that's only important for emmisions reasons. Pre-ODB2 will soon be exempt.

I do, however, it is a dedicated, completely gutted rally car.

The AC is still in, but I'm not sure what the "everything" is that I was able to keep. Steering, wheels, and a transmission is about all that's left.

RS4buddy, you may want to read the H6 FAQ

Here's a picture the car at the Sandblast Rally this year.

Cheers,
Anders
