Question 05 STi Cluster Swap and Immobilizer??

hey guys i have a question. i have a 05 Sti, and i know that it has the whole Immobilizer system in it for security. some how i managed to crack the plastic on the gauge cluster, and i was wondering if it was possible to just replace the whole cluster and it will plug and play with another 05 cluster or it had to be reprogrammed. i have a VW Jetta that has the Immobilzer system, and i know that if you want to change the cluster out or change any of the keys they have to be reporgrammed using a VW computer. i am wondering if subaru is the same way, bc at the dealer they told me that the new subaru keys work this way, but i am not sure about the cluster.

thanks
-brad
