Really Confusing Situation

So my 93 fwd L has been running great for over a month since changing my ECT sensor, which eliminated all my off CEL's. Now I was delivering pizza's the other night, I was driving up a hill, felt a loss of power and noticed the temp gauge shoot right up. I pulled over and turned the car off immediately, and noticed that no more hot air was commin out of the vents. So i figure I had a bad thermostat, tried startin the car, it ran really funky like the timing was off, so I turned it off and towed it back home. It has a distinct smell of almost burned rubber and when it runs it screeches. I popped the cover off the radiator right after it was over heating and noticed no hot coolent sprayin at me, and that the radiator was cold, but with the cover on and the car running it felt like a weird surging from the radiator. So im thinkin maybe the water pump went, and its eating up the t-belt? Can anyone confirm this idea, and any idea's how much its gonna pipe me to get her goin again. No car is owning a commuter in college

Don't run the engine anymore.....your diagnosis is likely correct....I am unfamilliar with the old skool scoobs, but if the h2o pump seized, it could do that ish...

yea ****ty situation. Im towin it to a shop tonight to get a 26 dolla esitmate on price and what exactly went wrong.....im scared and poor

I appreciate the help so far, Ill keep everyone that views this posted on my misfortune. On a side note my buddie Joncas just lost his motor 3 days after my problem occured. Looks like his oil pump went or timing belt skipped......sucks
