Heading to Anchorage...

Heading to anchorage this weekend probably... (if the wife can get off work friday).. gonna leave around noon friday.... whats there to do in anchorage..? Im going w/ a few co-workers and stuff.. Im sure they will know of some things to do.. but I am for sure going to the Scooby dealer to poke around... and maybe haggle a little bit.

Perhaps take a test drive..never driven one of the newer WRXs before.

See if you can talk to Jack Forbes there at Continental Subaru. He's a pretty good guy. He was always offering to buy my Typhoon for a few hundred bucks. Anyhow, I'm sure he'll help you out.

yeah, do one of the online things where you show interest in one of the WRXs... i went through Jack Forbes and got a great price on my STi

Huh.......I think Lownslow may be referring to the rallyx? The meet on sunday is free. Meet up, drive out to Soldotna, hang out and chill, come back to a-town.

OK makes better sense to me now. was goign to say....been to soldotna quite a few times, always had to hit the DQ, but dont recall anything NEAR $75....maybe including gas into the equation but still.

When is this soldotna drive?

So would that drive be out of my way... Im not too sure if I am heading out saturday ngiht or not... Not exactly sure where we are staying at though.. going with a few buddies from work.. taking my car as well. if it's not outta the way ... I MIGHT stay till sunday.. i dunno... doubtful though..altho I might get my scooby this weekend.. who knows

Definitely, make it a trip to buy a car. Make sure and get the ball rolling before you leave so when you get down there all you have to do is pay for the car. I'd also see if they would pay for a plane ticket. Why drive when you can fly? I know when I went to Soldotna to buy my truck, I worked out all the details before I went down and they flew me down to pick it up.

You don't have to have a WRX for the rallycross. Neons do just fine. There is a class for 2wd.
