Default I'll paypal $10 if someone can find this term for me (not cheating on my homework!!!)

A professor gave me this term last year, and I wrote it down as it made a perfect title for a story I was writing. Unfortunately, I can't remember it, I don't know where I wrote it down, and I need to put a title on my story by 7:45 tonight.

The term describes creating an (favorable) impression of someone or something in your mind based on what you want them to be despite their actions.

I believe it was a french term, and I want to say it was something like donne, or dunne, maybe la donne?

Anyway, any help is appreciated. I'll also take other ideas if you have any, you'll get paid for that too if I take the idea.

thanks.

skrib09 seems to be on the right track..

DONNÉE: (French, "given"): The assumptions upon which a writer constructs a work of literature. Some common examples include the assumption that young love is fickle, that society is bleak or dangerous for survivors of warfare, that guilt is inescapable, that following one's heart (or head) leads to happiness (or heartbreak), and so on.

Googled french literary terms...

Now is it La donee, or le donne?
and if it's the le, is there an accent over the e?
