Default (befor/after) question about Cobbs AP for MY03

OK, I finaly finished up my exhaust. Helix up and catted down pipe matted to SPT's cat back. Car sounds great by the way. Anyways, I just also ordered up my Cobb AP and was wondering with their Stg2 93 map, is it REALLY a night and day differance? You know what I mean, is it like a different car? I just can't believe a jump from 227hp to 285hp for under 2k. Not that I doubt it, I'm actually very excited just can't believe it, yet.

You will love the diiff. But give it a little time for the computer to adjust for the changes. And yes Nite and day

Oh man.. i can't wait.. I've even got the parts ordered.. same set up as you. Helix up/down with cat and SPT exhaust.. tell me it brings out a wee bit more rumble and I'll be a very happy man.

As for the AP, stage one was a noticable difference. VERY noticable. If you are going straight to stage 2.. that'll probably blow your mind from what I hear. I can't wait for stage 2. Darn Helix pipes on backorder...

I was thinking about the same TBE setup can you tell me how it sounds and looks? The price of those parts seems about right for me but i want something on the quieter side, will this meet my needs? And i have a AP stage 1, it changes the feel of thecar to be more responsive and just feel better. But i want to go stage 2 because thats where the power is.

im currently waiting for the rest of my exhaust to get in so i can go straight to stg 2. is there any kind of "break in" period with the ecu after reprograming it? i also ordered sti mtr/tranny mounts, from what i have been told the stock ones get rather 'mushy' at that level.

It takes about 200 miles for the computer to adjust and for you to get full power.

yes it is night and day. you will notice a difference right away. but it takes a few hundred miles before you get the full performance from the upgrade.

I will answer all questions about this TBE setup. First, my whole system is polished SS except the mid pipe that the SPT cat back comes with. This paticular setup is tits. Definatly not loud like say, Turbo XS's TBE or anyone elses for that matter. The reason being is the probably the SPT muffler. It holds almost the same design as a stock muffler, just flows better. It's quiet at low rpm's. Sound stock at an idle with the windows up. Screams at 6500rpms and the car moves. I couldn't be any more happy with em. If I get enough requests then I guess I'll have to learn how to post videos so you all can hear it. I don't know of to many people on here who run an SPT.

I hope to be stage 2 in like a month. Right now im completley stock with my 05. When my tax return comes in, i'll be ordering an AccessPORT. I already have a spare UP gutted and will order a TXS steathback this payday. The stealthback will be mated to an STi axleback (3in instead of the wrx's 2.25in). My friends say that going from stock to stage 2 all at once is going to be awsome. I cant wait.

You'll definitely notice a difference. I went from Cobb stage1, which I found made the car a little more peppy to stage2, which made the car fell MUCH better. So I'm sure you'll be pleased.

Unfortunately, I want more power now and I don't like the fact that it's taken over a year for the access tuner to come out, actually it's still not out. Cobb is nice if u don't plan on going past stage2... after that it's really limited in turbos that it will support. I think I'll probably be switching to a UTEC. Sorry... I kind of went on a tangent. Enjoy stage2 !!!

ya know... i just put in my scoobysport downpipe and helix uppipe, and reflashed to stage 2 from stage 1, and im a little bit disappointed, turbo spool is still at around 3k rpm, thats my main gripe. but anytime over 4500 rpm, the car just takes off, so im pretty happy about that. is this how its supposed to be? i am on cali stage 2 btw. no ic hoses yet, theyre in my garage.

Make sure you have the 1.20 Stage 2 93 map. For me, just going from the 1.19 to 1.20 was a noticeable difference. Anyhoo, you will be pleased

thats my feeling also. i dont have an EGT gauge yet though so i dont want to push the actual map. but i dont drive that hard so maybe i should just flash it in and take it easy...

I'm living in Cali and i'm using the revised 91 map. I guess I should probably flash to the specific cali map but I haven't been having any problems with the map I'm using now so I haven't switched. I have an egt and boost gauge installed and I haven't noticed anything out of the norm.
