Default Junk yard turbo, lay out

Of i think i am going got do this. i will get the turbo and modify my existing exsot system to use it., now here are some questions. Where would my mass air flow sinsor go? befor or after the turbo? i am thinking Of a Apex fule controler and a Greddy turbo timer. I know i am going to have to make the intake and fit a inter cooler. but befor I jump into this I wont to know if there is any thing I am missing? and has any one tryed this??

Default MAF

The MAF goes before the turbo on the turbo inlet. As to fuel control I would recommend the HKS Super AFR over the Apexi Super AFC. Do some research and see what you think. I am using the HKS unit and love it.

You will need an up-pipe - this goes from the end of your headers to where the turbo will be. You'll need flanges on each end, one that mates to the exhaust side, one that mates up to the turbo. Then the turbo itself. The turbo has 4 "ports" if you will - the exhaust inlet (I know, an oxymoron) where the turbo bolts to the up-pipe. The air inlet, which is the intake side (your MAF will have to bolt up on that side, somewhere on your intake pipe), which will of course need a air filter. Then the compressor side, where the compressed charge exits the turbo. You want it intercooled, so you need a turbo to IC pipe. That pipe should have a nipple or flange for a BOV if there is not one on the IC. You'll need an intercooler, natch. You'll need a feed for oil to the turbo, and you'll need to return the oil to the system. If the turbo is watercooled, you need water hoses, too. You'll need more fuel - a bigger fuel pump and a RRFPR are effective. You'll need a down-pipe, which bolts up to the fourth port of your turbo, the exhaust side. It needs to connect between your turbo and the midpipe of your exhaust (flanges like on the up-pipe - one where it meets the exhaust, one where i meets the turbo). Maybe even put in a high-flow cat. You should have a bung in your up-pipe and downpipe for your O2 sensors. Of course, you will want gauges so you know what is going on. Boost and EGT gauges will help a lot. Truthfully, you probably ought to have a bigger exhaust, and while you're under there, I would put in STi motor mounts.
