Default Ot: Mountain Conditions?

Anyone been to Blackcomb this week?
What are the conditions?

I hear they're passable. Not as bad as Cypress and the local gang ...

I'm considering heading up tomorrow for the last time this year.

it should be icy. Sunny during the day = slightly melted snow, frost at night = icy in the morning. I am not going to even try anymore... Season is over. After two sad attempts at Mt Washington, three days in Panorama (blue sheets of ice instead of runs...brrr...) and two days in Whistler, with all the rocks and trees sticking out...

Thanks for the quick replies. No one told me that it was icy. What I heard was 'well-groomed' runs ...

Not worth it even with free lift tickets?

It's either now or never for me. I won't get a chance until well into April. I'm just wondering if it's a waste of time to even head up ...

I think it's _always_ worth it with free tickets, no matter what the conditions are hehe. But that's just me.

edit: if you don't care too much about your skis of course. I've got my new Bandits all scratched this season...

Not so much a free ticket, but it is an Edge pass that has been paid for already ...

I guess I'll just have to wax my board double before putting it away this season.

Mt. Washington has been closed for a month already because there is no snow.
Mt. Cain never even opened.

worst winter ever

this is how Mt Washington looked like at Jan 9th, before it all got washed away by rain. Basically, we had two relatively nice weekends up there, Jan 3rd and 9th...and that's it...

I was up on Tuesday. Higher up (eg. 7th and Glacier) wasn't bad... a bit windy but the snow was fine. Early on in the day, even lower down was ok too but after lunch it got icy with more people going down the slope. Weather was awesome though! Overall, it was better than when i went up after xmas but still not what it should be.

i was up on the 13th, 14th and 15th, and it was only icy near the bottom (bunny hills :S) up top I thought it was fine and I had a blast.. sure it wasn't like almost half a foot of powder or w/e like during january but it's enough
