is there a check engine light on? and if so have u pulled the code to find out what it is? Check for a boost leak, i drove for a month cussing and swearing trying to figure out why i couldnt boost more than 10psi. I checked all my hoses everywhere and they were good. It ended up being my metal intercooler splitter punctured one of the rails on the TMIC and i was leaking air through the intercooler .

so check those and post back

Yes i do have a check engine light but i need to get an OBD scanner tomorrow. Also what is the hose that runs to the inner passenger fender wall? its next to the hose that goes to the turbo. I have'nt figured out where it goes maybe on the inlet pipe?

hmmm, i cant see what ur talking about, but make sure all of ur vacume lines are conested properly, and just double and tripple check your work. the simplist mistake will make ur car act up, or not run at all. i put the fuel lines on backwards and the car wouldnt start, i was about the pull the einge again thinking it was a bigger problem then it was.

The one laying on the turbo inlet is the return from the boost solenoid. It goes back into the turbo inlet at the very front of it, where you have that breather hose running. If you have it plugged because of another boost controller, then look elsewhere. I don't know where that other ones going or what it's for.

Those codes are because the AVCS system is not hooked up.

K i realized why it was running sooo bad, i had 91 octane and it was detecting a knock, so it wouldn't let me go over 45000.

What is the main funtion for the boost solenoid?

Sorry, but that probably wouldn't cause it to run bad.

The boost solenoid is what regulates your boost...good luck.

Al;right then just installed the AVCS and that got rid of the CEL's. But its still stopping me from going over 4500 revs???????

I haven't benn able to connect my speedo to the JDM tranny because the WRX harness plug is different. The WRX has a square plug with 4 prongs and the JDM has a rectanglur plug with 3 prongs.

I was told that this could be the problem what do you guys think?

Yes that is a problem. Odd that the plug is different, I've never seen one that was. The car will be in limp mode without the speedo sensor hooked up.

There should be a short "pig tail" wire on your stock 5-speeds speedo sensor that has both square end to the 3 prong end.

its on the Driver. locate the timing belt cover, look to the verry top of it. you will see wires going into a little senser(cant remeber if u can see the whole senseor of just the female part). but the plug(female) will be fasing the back of the engine...
just wondering, how did u get so far into the swap and not know where some of this stuff is, and not know the problems that come w/ the wiring? (im not trying to be an @ss, but just curious how u got so far w/o having bigger problems)

Bigger problems? cmon if i was to install this engine, tranny, suspension, driveshafts, etc, etc, never done it before and it started first time with no problems, Think i would be Mcguyver

All is well now ,and i have had my fair share of problems.I bought my 2 years ago and only started modding a year ago.

Its the little things that slow you down like.

How do these drive shafts come out?
What is this plug for?
What is this Hose for?

And as for the tranny harness, when i sold it to the other guy i must of given it to him by mistake, unplugged it from where the firewall is instead of the tranny.

It's hard to remember everything in reverse when there's soo much to remember.
I find it easier if i know what it is, and whats its function.

I took out everything on my own.

Had a freind help me put the engine and tranny in, he didn't know much at all about cars but never the less i couldn't have done it without him.

The best and easy part i thought was putting in the engine and tranny (attached) in. I found that preety easy do. I was told without a tranny jack the 6 speed would've been near impossible putting it in seperate
Took me 3 weekends

Now i think it would take me 1 or 2
