Default Second gear has no teeth left

Yeah so i pulled my case apart today and second is gone, i have small pile of teeth on the bench. The output shaft gear is also missing teeth, and the gear on the shaft next to second is gone as well( towards back of car- reverse is stripped!.) So waht i want to know is
Does anyone know where i can get a gearbox rebuild manual, or any other relevant technical specs on the early models? Its a first generation RA gearbox.
Also, has anyone bought a new inout shaft for their gearbox? how much are they from your dealers or did you go direct from japan?
Thanks...

Yes it was JDM STI gearbox. Their not so tough. Lack of sympathy can kill anything.

Plenty of guys in Aus/UK/rally applications have broken them, that's why the use of dogboxes has been more prevelent there.

You need a ver 5/6 box, much stronger then the early boxes. Rally will kill even the best transmission made.

true, im still tossing up between a rebuild with dog 1 and 2 or a replacement v5 sti box. Ill probaly mod the buggered one and be gentle.
Anyway, anyone know about the manuals for them? Or anything vaguely similar?
Ive got good parts sorted, i just want to double check everything first clerances backlash etc but i need some tech sheets to do it.

I have a .pdf set of factory service manuals for 2002 and newer Imprezas. The set includes the transmission manual with rebuild procedures and stuff. I imagine the basic procedures would apply because the case and layout are the same. Other stuff like torque specs or tolerances might be different though. The manuals are available here: http://yobtah.dyndns.org/wrx_manual/ if you're interested.
