Default OT: Help..I Need info about any local Pocket PC repair shop.

My pocket PC's screen is broken and need a replacement. It is out of waranty so I can't send it to the factory to get it replaced.

I went to FutureShop and they told me its better to buy a new one than to replaced the screen because it will cost about the same. I called the factory (HP) and they said that they only take if I still have the waranty.

I posted this thread to find out maybe some of you might have experience about this. Does anyone know any computer shop that can replaced my pocket pc's screen?

Thanks in advance.

Denny

You can ask around, but I'm pretty sure what Future Shop told you is correct. It might even cost more to fix than it would be just to buy a brand new one. The same goes for many electronics, especially digital cameras, once the warranty is over, if the screen breaks, it's cheaper to buy new than to fix. It is because of the high cost of labour that makes this happen, there aren't that many people trained to fix these things, so they can charge huge hourly rates.
Good luck with the search, and if you do find a place, let us know.

Chris

search on PPC forums. I know you can replace a Palm screen for....maybe $50-100. Look on Ebay for the part too.
