Default gpmoto short ram with cobb 2.5?

will a gpmoto short ram work with cobb 2.5? i know cold air intakes are a no-no, but the gpmoto is supposed to "replace the stock intake snorkel, resonator, and air box with a high flow cast aluminum velocity stack and 4.5" high flow cone filter; but the MAF sensor accuracy is ensured by utilizing the exact same inner diameter as well as the same geometry for the velocity stack radius." people say it's pretty much the same as installing a k&n box filter, but i was wondering if this will work. i'm sick of seeing the stupid snorkel and stock intake.

Cobb has a stg 1&2 map for the Injen intake only... and even they don't recommend using it...

From Cobb's Map Notes:

"This map is not an official endorsement of the Injen brand intake. It has been created purely from customer demand. COBB does not currently recommend the use of this, or any intake on the WRX."

If you don't have at least an EGT gauge (AFR and EGT is preferrable) I wouldn't condone it. It's not impossible to use other properly desinged intakes with off the shelf mapping, but without the means to monitor your engine you could do more harm than good.

i know the guy from gpmoto, he says most tuners dont condone intakes because the tuners are too lazy to tune for them since the stock box is so easy.

Cool

if you want a tuner who won't give you the voodoo speech about intakes, try PDXtuning and Perrin or keep your Stock airbox. I haven't found another who wont tell you to take it out. They're not all bad, but they aren't tuner friendly either

why not just do what everyone else does? take out the ram-air scoop and take out the ol' snorky the intake silencer (cute lil thing). oh and drop in a new filter.

if you wanna have more fun with your intake without seriously damaging it, take out the rubber gasket on the airbox, seal it up with foam tape.
