Question What does the intake resonator chamber do?

Like the title says. Never heard of these before. Some sort of fluid dynamics thing? Reduce intake noise? Please enlighten me.

Yes, and, apparently somewhat unknown to the CAI crowd, there is this thing called "accoustic tuning". Controlling how sound waves travel not only in the intake, but in the exhaust as well, effects performance. Be careful how you alter the design of the intake and the exhaust.
