Question Recommend a place in Boston area for detailing? and/or self serve wash?

Since I live in an apartment where I can not wash/wax my car myself, I am looking for a good place to do self serve washes and also a good place to take it for a good exterior detailing.

Can anyone reccomend a place preferably close to Cambridge/Watertown for either self serve wash or detailing?

Thanks,
J Blair

Default waltham wash

dedfish,

I am in kinda the same boat you are, so this is what I've found:

1) I do not go to lechmere auto washes. they are always insanely crowded and their bays/equipment are crap.

2) allston car wash for an automatic wash is not too bad but $$. also they spray this stuff to clean the windows (interior) and I have yet to decide if I am a fan. good for winter or no time.

I personally like this car wash in Waltham on... Elm street I think it is. It is just about right next to the Waltham PD. It's only somewhat crowded on really sunny weekend days, set back from the main road, plenty of space to dry and polish, etc.
They've got a detail area as well, and prices are good. I recently got a fresh coat of meguiars wax for about 40 bux. Oh and there's an autozone just across from the Police station, if you need a quick acquisition of goods.

Second Waltham Car Wash. Lots of space and not crowded. I live down the street from them and have been going over there for the past 3 years now.

Whatever you do, don't take it to the clowns in the Atrium on Rte 9. They put some sort of cleaning spray on the engine bay and on the rims...literally ate way the paint. That was the end of the 97 328i

I also live close to the Waltham Car wash .... I will also recommend them ..... like others have said ..... nice location ...... several bays ... large area for you to dry and polish. And yeah, the Autozone arcoss the street is very handy too

Maybe we should get a weekend and have a mini-meet there!

I used Today's Auto Detailing in Everett for my car. It was about $100, and I did not have to use a clay bar on it, because they did. Worth $100 if you ask me. I was pretty happy with the results.
Just tell them to watch the wax on the black moldings and stuff.
