Default Is it any harmful for car to take off the front grill?

Today, I took off the front grill from my car to figure out how it looks.
Actually it was very easy to take off and looks not bad, rather looks more aggressive and unique looking. Not bad at all as looking.
I'd like to keep like condition unless there is no harm to my car.
What U guys think?

Everyone is gonna ask... 'What happened to the grill?" Then you'll have to explain yourself.

I would want something there. I wouldn't run without it.

I know how you feel I personally hate the 04 grill. An Sti grill might work for you.

I cut out the entire center section holding the badge, colormatched it, put in screening, and fashioned a floating badge. That worked for me.

Wow.... Did you really do that?
Where did you get the screen?

The screen is gutter guard from Lowes. There is a write up somewhere on the details of this, so I didn't include much, but here is the thread.

I had my grill out on my 04 and it liked the way it looked, however I figured it is probably a good idea to have something there so i just cut out the center section with a dremel and it looks fine.

Just hope a 3/4 gravel does not get kicked up and lodged into the radiator or A?C condenser and you be SOL.

My A/C condenser leaked when a rock hit me on the freeway doing 70. Luckily the dealer took care of it under warranty or else I'd be $500 poorer.

^ thats hot!

to answer your question, it isn't harmless unless big debris becomes invovled. I havent had a grille on my car since it was painted, but I am getting one since its in storage now.

Actually I prefer everything of 2004's to my 2005's......
I dislike 2005's wrx handle with subaru logo..... 2004's handle with momo emblem is much much cool. Isn't it? I really want to take it off unless there isn't air bag!

Besides, 2004's center console style is better.

sorry It's my bad... 04's and 05's is totally same. you're right.

BTW, What kind of tools did you use when you cut the center post? With saw? How could make the cut surface such a sleek? With sandpaper?

I get asked this all the time. I'm in the process of cutting the center out and color matching what's left and leaving the screan black...

I have two grills in my car. The one in the front, and one behind the back windshield from my 02.

Dremel with a cutting wheel, then a grinder, then sand it. You will have a hole where the post was. You can either leave the hole as is, or you can epoxy a piece of plastic to the outside, and fill the gap with bondo. I've seen it both ways. If you want the removable floating badge. Cut out the badge holder from the center post, drill two holes in it and use bolts to secure it to the mesh.

i have offered a grille exchange program for forum members, whereas you send me your stocker, and i send you a modded one....

i have(had) one core grille but am currently out of it.

i am offering this service for cost, not profit....

also, the top surface is honed out to match the intake snorkel edge better, hopefully increasing airflow as a result..... (optional)

professionally done and clearcoated...

all i ask in return is the cost of the service (120) plus shipping back to you (18$)

ese

bodymatched (by others)

mine, prior to dr725......
