Default Insurance! Damn!

Looks like the Citadel Assurance has decided that the WRX is "high risk", at least in Ottawa Just got my new policy, that they want $1500 for the year. My '00 Viper GTS is only $2600 for the year (its insured all year around)!

What is the going rate on 2000 2.5RS coupes. I am 22 years old, clean record & not married, and I paid 2900$ from October 2000 to October 2001. What should I expect to pay for next year? What are your premiums and records?

Thanks,
Stefan

Craig,

Not to be an ass, but if you're running a Viper in the summer, you'll get no sympathy from me regarding insurance rates (I'm bitterly jealous! ) I'm paying ~$2000 for my RS

BTW, I think it was your WRX I saw in the shop at Ogilvie yesterday. Rally blue, Prodrive rims... Veeeeeeeeery nice!!!

I guess I'm lucky since I'm paying $1100 a year for MY01 RS. I'm 25, clean record have used the same company (State Farm) since I was 16 (which helps). Before my magic "25 years old" insurance milestone I would of being paying about $1500.

Thumbs up Insurance...

WOW,
you guys should switch side of the river... I'm paying 950$ a year for my REX, clean record, 27 and married...

BTW, having a WRX must be nicer than a Viper these days, apparently it's been a crappy summer back there? (I've been in La for 5 weeks....). Viper and rain, don't think so!

Nice on sunny days thought! Good combination summer/winter...

Man, I think we're paying way too much in insurance.... I tell ya, it's a total joke about insurance... does it litterally take that much $$$ in premiums for those who have a good record (ie: no speeding tickets etc).. No wonder quarterly earnings have been rising for the past decade for insurance companies!

I am paying $174 a month.. and my insurance is going to be expired in Aug 24th. but I still haven't got the renew price for next year yet!! What the hell.. I am with all-states .. I think I am paying too much! I am going to be 27 in Aug 3 and going to get married in Aug 18!!

So .. will I get great rate after I get married in Aug 18? My insurance will get renewed after Aug 24!!

BTW I will turn 27 in Aug 3 and Married in Aug 18 No ticket and accient. driving MY00 RS One year insurance with All-States.

TD quotes me $144 a month for next year.. is that reasonable?

congratulations on getting married. From what I have noticed here, you should pay less than 144$ per month for the upcoming year because you are 27 and married.

I can't speak from experience because I'm 22 and far from getting married but it seems a little high considering the trend I have noticed here.
