Default burnt smell

of course the smell will disapear, because it gets blown away by the wind, check the clearances of your wiring in the engine bay. Or you can leave your engine running pop the hood, have somebody turn on your electricals one by one, to eliminate your problem. If that's not it. Park your car on a clean spot, then check for leaks, you might have an oil leak that drips on your manifold and gets burnt.
goodluck

I kinda have the same issue.
although mine seems to occur more when:
A.) its cold out
B.) I turn on the defroster

could this be as simple as a belt slipping on the pulley?
It never sqeels (first tip-off to a loose belt).

any ideas?

I still can't find the problem. But I have a feeling that it's oil leaking on to the hot piping
