Cool Staying NA

I'm taking the car in on Friday to have a wreck pulled 2000 Legacy EJ25 SOHC swapped into the car. It has just over 40k miles, a new timing belt, and it's complete. The price was unbeatable.

While the engine is out, I'm going to pick up some Cobb Street Performer cams, a Cobb lightweight flywheel and a Pro Street clutch. Finally, i'll add one of the new lightweight Power Pulley kits, though i'm not sure if it'll be blue or gold.

The car should be much happier and more responsive with these mods. I've got to get a better flowing cat to finish up the exhaust for the time being. It's hard to estimate HP at that point, but i'd put it close to Matt's 150whp mark, which would be awesome.

Maybe a turbo kit later

Nope, I'm paying for it all. SOA stopped covering anything once it was decided the heads were the likely cause. $500 or so for a set of used heads, but no way of knowing if there's something wrong with the block. A full replacement was the best solution.

I was able to get a very, very good deal on an engine, and the labor shouldn't be too bad. The total for those two would be in the neighborhood of a HG replacement. Less than half the miles, hopefully none of the problems. A few more go-fast parts will make it even better.

I see, well good luck and hopefully that engine treats you better than the last.

Hmmm...curious to see how the SP cams work. I still can't decide to go SP or Spicy. Ah well.

If COBB has a meet this year, you going again? (I had the silver BG from NJ).

To make a long story short, the donor engine is giving us problems, and it's not even in the car! Two years of sitting around probably means some rust, but i won't know for sure until tommorow. I'm considering other options at this point.

I'll definitely be at the Cobb meet. I know the whole lot of them and they're only 45 minutes south. We were talking on Friday about whether or not it would be held later in the year at the new track location, regardless of its state

It's hard to forget your BG
