PKDuck: Careful with the all caps. A moderator may admonish you or, worse, lock the thread.

I think Mr. Cheese is asking about the dust deflector that attaches to the tailgate just above the window and CHMSL. I can't attest to that - though I wanted one I was paranoid that it might get banged up by my kayak. I have seen posts on other forums (Edmund's, VMAG/4x44u) that say it works well at keeping dust and road grime off of the rear window. Hopefully someone with one will reply here.

PKDuck,
Please refrain from using all caps, as it is against the rules set forth by the owners of this board that we all agree to when we join.[/Moderator Voice]

Sorry I have the factory spoiler on my Forester, not the dust deflector.

From my offroad experiences all I can say is that the dust deflector doesn't seem to do a thing except collect dust. If you kick up dust bad enough it will get all over the car no matter what you do

I guess I never answered the rest of your post.

It doesn't look to bad, and the only pictures I have of it is after I broke it so they wont help much but I'll post them tomorrow if I figure out how .

Yeah, i realize that if you do some major off highway-ing , you will get dust everywhere

but from my experiences driving my moms forester, the rear window often collects dust and dirt when the rest of the vehicle is still clean

pikeadon: did you break it along with the rest of the vehicle, as i see you have a r.i.p. for the forester?

Yeah an accident, I decided that there were too many signs and that this tree needed to be moved a little, hurt my car bad , but all the passengers were fine .

Oofah. Sorry to hear that but glad all are well.

I know Glens Falls - have a very good friend who's originally from there but moved away long ago - 1980's I think. Good place to have a Subie.

Good luck with the replacement.
