Have a Nice Day? My sister's friend OD'd this week.

I guess he just got out of rehab 5 days beforehand and now he's dead.

My sister is really upset and I'm trying to be there to support her. I just wish she wasn't 4.5 hours away so I could be there for her a little better.

drugs are bad mmmkay

Too bad.

If it looks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, it's a duck. Rehab isn't a solution in itself, the person's gotta want it.

Hopefully his story serves as an object lesson to others.

well I am 26, sorry to speak the truth even if it does hurt. When you do drugs you know what you are risking and getting yourself into. It wasnt his friend it was his sisters friend.

Say it with me: "Time and place for everything."

So you take it upon yourself to determine that it's fine to be callous because the degree of separation is sufficient?

Our families were always close and I used to ski with this kid and shoot pool with him when we were younger. Him and my sister are only two years younger than I am. I had distanced myself from this kid and his crowd because of this very reason, drugs. It's not like I didn't know the kid at all, but I knew what he was into. It's hard because I'm meh about him, but upset for my sister.

There was a guy that came to a couple of my parties that another friend knew since gradeschool. He ODed on heroin shortly after the last time I saw him. Pretty freaky when you just saw someone and now they are gone forever over an addiction.

Drive up this weekend and spend some time with her. She'll probably be so happy to see you. I'm sorry for her loss.

I don't know if I should or not. I wouldn't be able to get there till tomorrow night and she is leaving for San Fran on Saturday afternoon. I think she wants to see her friends tomorrow night most of all. I told her to skip work tomorrow afternoon and go do that.

sorry to hear it... addiction is a frightening thing... especially Heroin since it is very nearly impossible for an addict to kick.

Ask her this: "What can I do to help you through this?"
