I hear it is REAL loud. Most of the high performance JDM exhausts are. The al lhave that deep boxer rumble pretty much.

yea.. all the nurspecs ive heard have been really loud. Even with all the stock cats, the things screams. As ebeck said almost all fartcan straight through mufflers are goin to be loud (blitz, helix, apex, hks, etc).

Oh and since your putting on just the axelback, it may not be THAT loud.

All im really lookin for is to Beef up the sound of my car. But i didnt wanna purchase it if its gonna make my car sound like a ricey Crap box if you know what i mean.. So as long as its gonna be a nice deep tone it should be awsome!

basically.. i havent really heard a BAD sounding exhaust on a suby... definately some sound better than others, but the car naturally sounds different then hondas etc.. What will change your sound is equal length headers. With ones like qtp or fujitsubo... you will loose your boxer rumble, maybe not all of it, but definately most of it.

oh and if you want to get a sample of what your car will sound like, simply take off your stock axelback. It'll definatelly give you a taste of the volume and tone of what the blitz will sound like.

I have a blitz axleback....it is awesome! Not too loud, the cops here gave me a thumbs up.

I think if you eliminated some cats it would be louder though. Very deep tone. Not ricey at all.

my hks is quieter than the nur spec, its deep and low tone, noticeable but not loud to be annoying, i originally had a prodrive which also sounds really good, also a nice low and deep too but its not much improvement over stock, switched to the HKS and have been very happy =)

btw, at idle the HKS is pretty quiet, it was only slightly louder than the prodrive at idle and the prodrive is very quiet at idle. So IMO this was the perfect exhaust for me, especially since i like the nice deep n clean sound vs loud harley type sound.

honestly, for people who have said that they've felt gains with axelbacks along, i must ask what are u smoking? I driven many just catback installs and have yet to feel any real significant gains without tuning. Honestly, i can understand people getting axelbacks for what they are, things htat make your car sound good, just dont expect to go any faster

For reference, I have a catless TXS setup, with the NurSpec axle-back and at a local Suby meet, my exhaust setup matched the volume of another suby with an exhaust cutout. So don't expect too much muffling with this muffler.

Performance is the priority with this can, not sound suppression. The Subaru motors sound different than any of the inline 4 cyl, so even un-muffled they sound good in my opinion.

If you are running other stock exhaust components (downpipe, uppipe, midpipe), then it won't be as loud, but be warned that the Blitz muffler is a straight through exhaust muffler with little sound suppression.

This is good advice, I had an extra O2 bung in the exhaust unplugged for a while and could BARELY hear the difference. So, loud exhaust leaks aren't that noticable.

I actually dynoed an APS 3" TBE system with a 3" axleback and 2.5" axle back. I made teh exact same power with both axle backs. I did however spool 500rpm's sooner. Larger turbo of course not the stocker. That is a HUGE deal BTW. Especially on an non-AVCS car.

I know who has a brand new in the box 3" APS axleback as well as a used APS 2.5" axle back. PM me for details if you wish. It has the deep Aussie boxer sound but no drone.
