Question wrx vs. boxter s

anyone with a wrx race a boxter s yet ?
i have had 2 encounters but the roads were to crowded. both times at the front of a stop light with to many cars in front.

boxter s will beat a wrx in the straights in the turns i will still have to lean on the boxter because of its size and weight. but on the dirt snow or rain is a totally different story. Also these cars are too different.

on paper 0-60 goes to the WRX by a hair. and QM times are almost identical, with a slight advantage to the boxster S. from a stop id say they are equal if the race went to high speeds the boxster would eventually pass. from a roll id put a lot of money down that the boxster would creep away.
in the turns its the boxster all the way though. the handling on the boxsters is near prefection, much better than a stock WRX i'm aftraid. maybe even a hair better than the STi. boxsters were made specifically for the twisties, that is there sole purpose of being. and porsche did a damn good job as usual.

Doesn't boxter also come with an AWD version?

As much as I love my WRX, I'd have to go with the Porsche for anything other then a straight line, or bad weather. My friend has a "normal" Boxter and that thing is amazingly solid in the twisties.

Hmm.

The latest rumor is that Porsche will produce a GT version of the Boxster. All-wheel-drive with more horsepower. I can barely wait. But, of course, Boxsters are not considered to be a competitor by Suraru. Kien Probleim!

what was wrong with what i said. i dont know the numbers so i was taking a logical guess beause in an old SCC they compared the boxter s to a s2000 and there times were very similar dont remember what the times were but very close. still dont know the numbers but i am almost positive the boxter s puts out more hp then a wrx and much lighter. so my logics tell me since it has a lower power to weight ratio inturn it would accelerate faster and top speed. then again doesnt have awd but atleast its rear. if you can tell me the times then i will look like an idiot and shut up.
peace

For the same money you could get 2 WRX's
with MBC's and gang up on the boxster!
Easy win over the porsche.

got in a little high speed race with a boxster s one time (going from about 70-110) and the boxster s slowly but surely pulled away from me. probably awd helps out the wrx a lot in the 0-60, but at higher speeds aerodynamics and hp favor the boxster s. my wrx is bone stock by the way.
