Default More PSI by changing a part of the vacuum hose?

I'll warn you now... forgive me for any confusion/vagueness on my part... this is second hand information I heard about and it wasnt explained to me in such a manner that I could fully follow what he was saying (Probably didnt helpt hat I was tired).

It was my understanding that in the line for the wastegate theres a part that nipples down and you can replace it with like a $1 part and get like 2 more psi out of your stock turbo.... Hopefully that makes sense to someone and you know what I'm referring to.

A few questions... First, can someone better explain this to me (i have a somewhat decent understanding of wastegate/turbo etc but nothing fantastic). Also, if I were to do this, would it be a safe thing to do? And finally, what sort of effects would that have with other modifications if I currently have TBE and I intend on buying AcessPORT?

Thanks

-Jordan

I remember that one. I guess the end result was that guy had to replace his $2 part back to the stock part. For some reason the replacement broke because of heat or pressure or something. And little plactic parts went through his lines.

Yes, that is the mod, but please, take my word for it, it is not worth it. There are other, safer ways to mod our cars. If you would like some ideas, or have any questions feel free to PM/E-mail me (or if you still don't quite understand it after you read it...let me know).

This is not the route the go, its good that you asked though, it shows that you're using the good parts of your brain.

Three cheers for common sense!!!
