Default JDM V7 struts w/ USDM GDB springs & top-hats?

My question is will JDM V7 struts work on a '04 GGA chassis with USDM '04 GDB springs, and top hats? I was told that the top hats are needed for the springs, and not the struts. So it sounds to me like it would work.

The 02 style V7 rear struts will not mate perfectly with 04 style strut tops. When you bolt the two together, there's a bit of play as the threads aren't long enough. But, many have found that adding a washer or two to fill the gap makes it work.

Thanks for the tip....the washers...are they placed between the strut, and the tophat along the self locking nut?

When you mate the two, you'll see how the threads and the nut don't completely tighten down the strut top. The washer goes in between to take out the play. It's ghetto, but it works.
