Default Cat back system 2005 RS Impreza

Ok, does anyone know what would be the best cat back system to get the following results:
First off, I can barely hear my car even when I gun it, I want some sound but not ridiculously noisy or whiny. The best way to describe what I like is the sound of the WRX's (if I could have only afforded one ). I love the low rumble, throaty sound they make, it's unmistakenly Subaru to me, and I know I won't get the exact sound with my engine type, but that's just an idea.
Secondly, I don't want to have any problems with my warranty becoming null and void.
Thirdly, I certainly don't want to lose power, but don't care if I gain power either.
Any suggestions would be very helpful, you guys have been great!

Well, the SPT catback gives you nice, more defined rumble but it is not abnoxious. As far as warranty, if you want to be 100% kosher, you will have to go through Subaru to have it ALL warranied. Otherwise, Stromung is the way to go. It make phenominal boxer sound while producing some power gain and it looks great. No fart can look. Good luck.

Please tell me that you just hit your head on something?? According to Subaru they will not warranty anything aftermarket, no matter if its an SPT/STI piece or "Bob's Performance Exhaust." The piece will have its own warranty, but Subaru will not back it, period.

It seems as if I'm following your posts tonight and cleaning up your bad advice.

Well, I am drunk so does this fall under your category of 'touched' in the brain? I live in New England and every dealer I've been to and the Subaru website states that if it is SPT and dealer installed it, it is covered under warranty. Care to disprove me? Pasted from SPT site:

Parts not marked with asterisk(s) are covered by the Limited Warranty for Genuine Subaru Replacement Parts and Accessories.
Parts with one asterisk are covered by the Parts Only Limited Warranty for Select Genuine Subaru Performance Parts (Labor Excluded). Parts intended for off-highway application only. May bring vehicle out of compliance with safety/emissions standards. Can only be lawfully installed by end user. Click here for complete details

If you look T SPt site, 90% of part have no asterisks next to them. Parts with 1 are mainly trainy parts and such. Comments?

They're talking about warranting(sp?) the parts themselves I believe, not any related damage (eg, the tranny synchros going due to the exhaust creating "more power"). So, they may install and warranty the parts, but if you come in complaining about your tranny being messed up and you have a full TBE, they are very likely to disapprove that claim. That's just an example.

Sorry for sounding like an ass in the last post.

You very well might be right on the related damage part. It is always a gamble and it all depends where you go to get the warranty work done. If you have them do it, your chances of not voiding your warranty is greater but it is never a sure thing. I should have made that more clear in my last post. To give you an example, I went to 2 different dealers to get my brakes fixed under warranty. One wanted to machine my rotor for $150 (new brembos cost less, ha ha) and the other replaced good and bad side, no questions asked. In this case, catback is a very low risk item and if it was me, I'd do it.
We did run into eachother tonight, several times. Kinda funny
