Default Good shops to mount tires in Poughkeepsie area?

After an incident that I do not want to even discuss, I am in search of a reputable shop known to take care of rims while replacing tires. One shop I went to ended up scratching my rims and not even apologizing about it.

Anyone knows a good reputable shop around POK area?

FYI, when I had my tires installed, the guy used "duct" tape on the edge/lip of my rim so he wouldn't scratch them. After the tire was installed, he peeled off the tape and inflated the tires. No scratches, great trick.....

How's about telling us who NOT to go to? If you had a problem with a guy in this area, I'd like to know who it was and what happened.

The problem with most places around here is that they want $25-35 per tire to M&B if you don't buy from them. Screw that.

I've been very happy with the service I get from Ultimate Tire on Main St. in PK. Once in a great while I have to clean off the rims from the tires being stretched over the lip of the rims, but other than that - they've helped me out a number of times when I've had flats and needed to be somewhere.

I went to a nearby shop at New Paltz for tire mount job. It's the one right across a bus station if you know NP area.

They were using a pry bar to unmount the tire and ended up leaving big scratch on the rim. What's worse is that he placed the outer side of the rim facing down, causing severe scratch on the wheel. I will never go to that place again!

I use them too, been there 5-6 times. I have had them do just about everything, I have bought wheels and tires to be m&b from them, brought in my own stuff to be m&b and they also did my OB exhaust. The prices are fair and they do a good job.
