Question Car Mods & your local dealer

I just got my new 01RS in April and just recently installed my first mod(Ganzflow). And now I am starting to think about an exhaust (and other things). My car is still new and still under warranty.

Have you guys found some of the local dealerships to be more "mod-friendly" than others? I purchased my car at Skyline in Boulder. So I guess what I'm asking is: If I start adding more mod's to the car and something does go wrong, am I going to get a buch of grief from the dealership? Or should I wait until the warranty is done before going to crazy?

I'd appreciate the feedback.

Slim

Slim,

I think you will find pretty much the dealers all have the same opinion. They will work on your car with the mods, but if there is a problem directly attributed to a mod you have done, they will make you cover the cost. There are salespeople at the dealerships who will say otherwise, but their service departments pretty much run independently and will have a different story to tell.

I have a 2002 WRX and I have certainly modified it, but I am one of those who believes in stealth modifications for the most part. for instance, my chip will be completely removable and untraceable to the electronics so that if there is an electronics related problem I can remove it and go to the dealer for service.
