you could always get a cat back. the 98-01 gc8 fits you jusy have to bend one hanger which doesnt hit anyway. right now im running a 98-01 apexi n1 from a gc8 and its awesome. the mid range def pulls more.

cobb CAI was 282 shipped. I would say anything is better than the stock intake system. but I was told gains of 10 whp/lb.ft from the intake.

i used an HKS super mega flow on mine. the map fits perfectly. its made for a wrx which is bracketed differently for obvious reasons. i installed the intake and had to bend the bracket slightly to make it fit. no sweat really.

looks pretty in there too

i have had my intake for about 3-4 weeks now and i love it. It is barely noticable at idle (unless you are trying to listen for it), and really loud at WOT. It whistles somewhere between 30-50% throttle too. There are no dead spots in the powerband now and while the car might not be all that faster it certainly feels that way. Throttle response is instant now where i would have to wait a second with the factory stuff. My only complaint about the intake was that the silicone piece that sits in the fender hole to keep the thing from rattling was bigger than the pipe because it has been so cold. I have spoken with cobb and they are sending me a replacement. Besides the fact that they take up to two weeks to answer their emails, Cobb is a very good company, and the intake is a awesome unit. My order was at my door 7 days after i purchased with basic ground shipping. Any other questions just ask
