I know this has been discussed before I ever got here about a million times but.. besides the doors, what are the differences between the two. Oh and yes the spoiler is different. Do they have the same wheelbase? If not which is better performance wise? I think the 4 door is 15 more lbs if I remember right.

5 lbs. Besides the added convience of 2 doors. I don't believe they're are any other differences.

Looks are a matter of opinion...Unless you plan on staying single all your life, 4 doors is a good option for for kids. And a selling point when selling it too.

Supposedly the sedan has better body rigidity, which is why Subaru doesn't make a coupe this year for the WRX.

from what I remember in CARS mag, coupes are only offer for the top line impreza (22b, p1..). Maybe because they do look more sporty...

Hmm, let me revise my previous post with this excerpt from Subaru's 2001 WRX yearbook:
"Four-door designs have major advantages such as better weight balance, easier servicing and higher packaging freedom. The new Impreza incorporates these benefits while completely avoiding the low body rigidity that's often a problem in four-door vehicles." - From the Subaru WRC season booklet. |

The sedan...1)a lot less on insurance for a sedan. 2)I think it is slicker looking. 3)The 2 doors are heavy. 4)More convenient for passengers.

Sedan by far....
The only bit of "sportyness" loss is the fault of a smaller wing. The convinience is unparallel. Never regreted it, glad I got it. -Mike- |

They're BOTH sedans..."coupe" vs "sedan" is a factor of interior volume, rated by the government. 2-door is a more proper designation.

Sedans are sweet! Besides the convenience they are still as sporty as the coupe. Just add the coupe style spoilers and you can't beat it. Doesn't the Euro Imps come standard with the coupe style spoilers?
Just throwing 2 pennies in the hat. |

I don't think that the difference is really that great. I think the coupe does look a little sportier in most peoples' eyes, but its nice having back doors and back windows to roll down. And it is easier to attach a roof rack.
The fact that the dealership had the sedans for a little less money also helped... |

Yeah...I know the sedan is more practical, just could resist the sportier look of the coupe.
