Subaru of America, Inc. is please to announce the introduction of two remanufactured hybrid short blocks. The short blocks are called “hybrid” short blocks because in addition to the traditional short block, these “hybrid” short blocks also come with oil pumps, oil pans, oil filters, water pumps, thermostats and thermostat housings. This hybrid configuration will allow for significant labor cost savings. Supplies are available now!

for replacement, what else. Its a good idea too cause of the dohc headgasket issues.

My local dealership parts guy called and told me about these a week ago. I think he said the price was about $2000.

That's a pretty damned fine price for a reman from Subaru with new pump parts...maybe something to replace my cursed motor with.

I just got one of those for $1800 from Subaru to replace my failed DOHC motor w/ 216k miles on it. It's a phase II block as well. Subaru wont sell Phase I blocks to anyone anymore.
