Default 2005 Intake

I know that injen has been in the process of making an intake for the 2005 since there were changes from the 2004 models if I'm not mistaken. Has anyone with an 05 had success using something else , maybe cheap ebay intakes and retrofitted k&n filters or something of that extent.

first off howdy...used to live in philly, miss it!

i used an HKS super mega flow. made for wrx, but all you have to do is bend the bracket slightly to get a snug fit. works beautifully. felt an increase in power instantly. not saying its the most powerful, but i definitely notice the difference. gave me more of a grumble in sound too.

the sensor fits on perfectly, was manufactured with a port for it, just screws right on........

Well, I really don't know all that much about this - but when I was shopping for an RS - (I ended up getting a new one) - the new 05 got better gas mileage then the 02-04. So maybe it's for fuel economy?
