What is the thoughts or experience with a stock ported and polished turbo? I have heard good things in general but I have never spoken to anyone specificallly about it. I know Paul had one but I never did get any detail. As I understand the flow is increased and you may see a bit earlier boost?
What types of other mods should one consider with a ported stock turbo? Chad chadandmegan@gci.net

I emailed deadbolt about this upgrade cause I though about doin it...
Here's the email about the port and polished TD04...cobbs stg 2 hits about 16-17 psi. stg 2 cali map is about 14-15. With the accessport, you may be able to get away with the stg 2 cali map with stock injectors... ----------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for your interest in our company. In your climate, this might not be a viable option for you without fuel system upgrades. We have found from some of our other customers that the additin of an upgraded fuel pump will help the injectors out a bit, and they will not run static as quickly. However, I am assuming that it gets very cold up there, which could alter things dramatically. I would think that by 20 degrees F, that the injectors would have trouble at anything higher than 15.5PSI, hwover you might want to discuss that with Cobb, as they are more the tuning experts than I am. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. I've read that huge thread of yours but I was especially interested in your comment on the Monster TD04 and was interested in what you thought. > > "We ran our test vehicle in 80 degree temps at 17.5PSI at 90% duty cycle on the injectors. In 40 degree temps at 16.5 PSI the injectors went to 100% duty cycle. In cold weather I would recommend less than 16PSI." > > I live in Alaska and well, we have an endless supply of cold air up here for about 9 months out of the year. Would this be a viable upgrade to use with Cobb's accessport on stage 2 in the cold air we have? Would it be safe to use the Monster TD04 without upgrading the injectors? |

I don't think there's any other additional mods with a ported stock turbo on a rex. I didn't see a big difference from the butt dyno other than peace of mind that the turbo might be spooling faster than stock.
