Default 2006 Imprezas with facelift and WRX with 2.5L?

So my car was in for service at DD today and was chatting it up with one of the sales reps.

Looks like the '06 Imprezas will have the new corporate face and the WRX will have a detuned version of the Legacy GT 2.5L.

Pretty interesting... I guess the '05s can be had for a song once the '06s get in.

BTW, thanks to dcgear and red_soul_d if you guys took care of my car.

i am feeling that just because EJ20 is a better engine then the EJ25, therefore japan wants all the USDM version wrx and sti to be cheaper car

hate them....
it makes the resell value of WRX and STi worst.

EJ20 is a better engine than EJ25??
i think they switch to EJ25 so all cars in the production line can share more parts thus save money, just like what nissan does.

the new look of the impreza is growing on me...
hopefully it will turn out better looking than some of the "spy" photos...

JDM EJ20 has a lot of forged parts I think, maybe that is what is meant by it being 'better'

Since I don't venture outside of this forum into the rest of the n00bsico, do you have a pic?

Polaris, I think only the JDM STi gets the forged parts. Besides, having driven the Legacy with only 250hp, I'd say I like the EJ25 better. It's just more responsive at all rpms, less lag, yada yada yada. It also sounds like a proper, manly engine

Something like this. Something in between the new Audi grill and the old bmw kidney grills.
