help installing voltmeter

for anyone that has installed a voltmeter where did you find your 12v power source?

try the electrical forum.

the radio has a 12v source

the cigarette lighter is really hard to get to but it has one

the ignition does but i wouldn't fool around with that if i were you

they're all over the place... where are you mounting the voltmeter?

Get the info for your car there. It give you the wiring list for car alarms, stereos, etc... Id use the ignition 12V, its probably the easiest to get at and if you do it right you wont have any problems.

You can tap any source of switched (accessory) 12V. The cigarette lighter is probably the easiest.
There is no need to go into the main ignition harness for this.
