I just bought an Apexi N1 catback but it hasn't arrived yet i was just wondering how well it performes. I was also wondering if it sounds good?

i have an WRX N1
never had stock exhaust before so donno how it performs when compared to stock
but when compared to the 2.25" straight pipe catback i had, N1 has a deeper and meaner sound but is not too loud or unbearable, and with the silencer on it's really quite.

as for performance i can't really comment on it coz i never had stock exhaust before. i'm losing quite a bit of low end power due to the larger piping diameter from the WRX N1 tho, like i have no power at all below 2000 rpm. maybe somebody else and answer this for you~

Apex N1 is a good exhaust. Pretty loud but mean sounding.

Apex'i N1 is a great catback. Gives a definate gain in the mid and high range punch. It's louder than your average exhaust, but sounds throaty.

i had lots of exhausts before...hahaha my stock, wrx stock, 5zigen fireball, stromung, apexi n1, and currently i have a scoobysport. out of all of these, i loved the n1 the best. very nice sound. looked mean too. the others were eh~ even the scoobysport. i don't think you'll get dissappointed with the n1. i'm just dissappointed that its no longer on my car.

It always takes me a few minutes to find the clip...

I have had the N1 for a few years now on the RS... by far my favorite exhaust for an RS that I have seen/heard yet...

Default yup

i have the a'pex n1 currently on my car with the following mods

-c-west v2 front bumper
-zerosports cf fender vents
-injen cai
-borla headers
-a'pexi N1 catback exhaust
-rotora bbk
-stainless steel braided lines fornt and rear
-stop tech rear rotors
-18" gunmetal zeo's w/ 225/40/18 nitto neogens
-flashed ecu

with all of this i have 197 whp with 216 fpt

not much low end power is gained, but once the rpm's build you feel a difference. with just the exhaust bolted on you can see better throttle response. I love this exhaust sounds mean as hell, and is not obnoxiously loud either.

do you have a dyno sheet to prove those numbers, sorry i just find it hard to believe that you are making that much power without equal length headers, cams, or headwork. granted i see you have a reflash, i would like to know who did your reflash because they must do good work if you can prove it

Wow Intake, Headers, Catback, and ECU Flash got you 30whp more than a WRX? Go optimism...

Not to steal the thread or anything, but will the Impreza catbacks and/or axel backs fit on a Legacy Outback? I am having a hard time finding exhaustsfor the car. Thanks.

mtskibum16 - The Impreza stuff will not fit. What year is your Legacy Outback? We offer exhausts for the BD/BG (1995-1999) as well as BE/BH (2000-2004).

yea..i have borla headers..and they don't look like equal length..they don't give a crazy amount of power, but they do make your car sound freakin mean. man..just sitting in idle with the apexi n1...that rumble...oh man i miss that rumble.

Doesn't seem like there is much for the 05 RS's out there. Not sure what cat back and header I will run but I really like this set up.

Thanks for the post! Just curious is that just the N1 catback or do you have a high-flow cat or headers or anything else that would alter the sound?
