Default Beware of Subaru of Merrilville in NW Indiana

Hi everyone,

Thought Id share an extremely bad experience I had over the last few months with Subaru of Merrilville in Merrilville Indiana just south of Chicago IL. I walked into the dealership back on September 16th and placed a deposit and signed a purchase order to order a 2014 STi. at that time I also agreed to have a set of the gold bbs ordered in from the dealer since the 14's don't offer gold as an option. I agreed to order the wheels and pay the 4,400 cash they cost under the agreement that that cost would be rolled into the price of the car and that money would be used as part of my down payment when the car came in. Fast forward to mid November and after I had paid cash for those wheels the dealer calls me to inform me that SOA canceled my order due to falling behind on dealer allocations and so my car was reassigned as a dealer allocation and I was told I was SOL and would not receive my ordered car. At that time I asked for my deposit and a refund of the wheels and was told I could have my deposit but not the other 4,400 dollars. I contacted SOA to see if they could help and found out from them that there was never an order placed nor a VON ever generated from that dealer for that car but there was nothing they could do about getting the money back for me. In short I was lied to and completely defrauded by this dealership to the tune of 4,400 dollars of my money and now have a very expensive set of wheels sitting in my garage and no new car to put them on as promised. Please be very aware that altho this is somewhat my fault for not asking for a VON before placing my wheel order, with that said these guys flat out lied and took complete advantage of this very loyal to the brand customer who was even willing to pay sticker price just to get my STi. Again BEWARE of the staff at Subaru of Merrilville owned by International Autos as they very clearly are very dishonest and will tell any level of lie as long as they get your money. Very awful experience, Shame on you Subaru of Merrilville.

I would like to name my crook salesman and his equally as crooked GM by name in this case but Im not here to personally bash or call anyone out, just to share a bad experience with a very bad dealership.

They sold me a 06 STI brand new. Found out it had been dropped off the back of a truck before I took delivery. Never disclosed it to me. Treatment only got worse after that. They didn't even use oem Subaru parts to repair.

I wouldn't buy a new Sti from them if they were selling them for 28k otd. I hope the owner and his family along with the salesman ed all have had horrible lives. Either that or are dead, either way I could give two ****s about those scum bags. Sorry for what happened to you.
